about me

1. I am really set on traditions and hate when things change (AKA MWF lunch with Jaci, Carissa, Chad and Miguel and TTh lunch with Stosch, Danielle, Carissa and Elyse). This semester was hard to adjust to without regular lunch dates.

2. I am superstitious about few things but dates are big in my life- I think starting the New Year out on the right foot is one of the most important things you can do in the year.

3. My 4 best friends have been my 4 best friends since high school. I honestly don't know what I'd do without any of them and it scares me to think about it (so I try not to).

4. I write in an online journal quite a lot, mostly so I can remember all the amazing things that have happened to me this year.

5. I hate 8:00 class. I'm sitting in mine now WISHING I could go back to bed but alas, not today.

6. I want to be a Hall Director. I am hoping that fact and other strong characteristics of mine are enough to convince all the HDs on staff to give me the job of Assistant Hall Director next year. I really don't know what I'll do if I lose it again.

7. I can't figure out if I'm in love with a boy or just in love with the idea of him.

8. I'm a John Cusack junkie and am trying to add to my collection of John Cusack movies, slowly but surely. I think my favorite right now is Martian Child, despite how sad it was at times.

9. I love my sister. I really do. And I tell her all the time and she never says it back (its our "thing") and it used to bother me but now I understand and know that she's just being a dork and one day, she'll admit that she loves me and misses me when I'm at school.

10. 10 is my favorite number, probably because it’s my birthday. It also sets off an obsession I have with even numbers. I was born in '88, graduated in '06 and by god, I'll graduate from college in 2010 if it’s the last thing I do. I don't like odd numbers.

11. Amusingly, the only odd number I do like is 11 and that's because of 11:11 wishing. I wish for a boy (pathetic, I know) and it drives him crazy because I won't tell him what I wish for. I told him that when it comes true, I'll share. Until then, it’s our little secret.

12. I'm distraught over the fact that when Corey left for college, it seemed like our friendship was over. He is the one person I wish I still talked to. I check in on various people I didn't think I would speak to ever again and I try on occasion to reach out to him but never get anything in return. That truly saddens me.

13. “You’ve Got Mail” is quite possibly one of my favorite movies of all time. I had it on in my room the other night while I was trying to do my homework and had to turn it off because I was reciting the words and distracting myself.

14. I have been trying to avoid this list and the similar “16 things” list because it’s difficult. I’m at 14 and stuck. I feel like this is going to take me forever. It’s strange because I LOVE talking about myself (and I’m not afraid to admit it).

15. I love to help people. Additionally, I am a people pleaser. I’ve been learning lately how that’s not always a good thing but its something I feel is important because I like to make people happy and everyone deserves to be happy. Unfortunately, I have a hard time remembering that I deserve to be happy too.

16. I’m so excited to go to Mexico in just 30-some days! I NEED a vacation like you don’t even know and I can’t wait to spend 5 days with sand, surf and sun with Trudy, Jaci, Sarah and Allison.

17. My favorite is when my friends from home visit me at school. I wish I could come home more but my life is so busy here that I rarely have the opportunity. That’s why I’m lucky to have such wonderful friends who can take time to visit and spend time here.

18. Last year, all I ate was French fries in the cafeteria. This year, I feel like all I eat is turkey sandwiches on wheat bread. Obviously, the sandwiches are healthier but I still don’t think its good that I eat the same thing every day.

19. Speaking of food, Carissa had me thinking that I had some sort of diabetes at the end of last semester because I was getting really dizzy when I ate and all I seemed to eat was sugar (I had a bad addiction to Dr Pepper). I cut back (I am very happy about my self control) and then came to the conclusion that I just didn’t want to leave everyone for winter break therefore I was making myself sick about it.

20. And while I’m still talking about food, I love my trayless lifestyle. I seriously believe it’s the reason I lost so much weight last semester and that makes me happy, simply because I ate less.

21. I love my residents. On Tuesday night when I was practicing my AD presentation I gave it to my residents and they were the sweetest girls ever. They made me signs and made me feel so much better about my lack of confidence in my presentation and myself. They are amazing.

22. I also love celebrating ridiculous holidays. Tuesday was international Pancake Day so we went to Perkins. Monday was Appreciate Bubble Wrap Day. I just love silly things and easy ways to improve someone’s day.

23. I haven’t talked about my parents yet but they are my favorite people in the whole world. Sometimes my mother drives me nuts but I love her more than anything. I admire my father in so many ways. I am so lucky to have parents like them and my Boosalis family and my Schmitz family.

24. I tend to go overboard in a lot of ways (this list, for example). I have a hard time editing my life so often I do too much instead of just enough.

25. I am happy. Lots of frustrating and difficult things are happening right now and I’m dealing with it as best I can but deep down, I think I’m finally happy. Obviously things could always improve in my life but at this moment, I am happy with the way life is going.
